A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is an opportunity to lead a 6-member dev team (11 total employees) with a deeply passionate SF startup, and some of the most empathetic Founders I’ve met. They’ve got strong revenue/ARR, proven product-market fit, notable investors, education, and experience from everyone on the core team.

 

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY CLIENT:

My client is a highly pragmatic, practical, and “realistic” team founded in 2020. Their leadership team (whom you would work very closely with) boasts a strong vision and strong history: **MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Google, Uber, Palantir**, and, of course, several successful VC-backed startups, since. They’ve very recently raised a ~4MM seed (backed by top institutional investors), and they are poised to continue their steady growth and continue to take market share away from the big players in their space.

 

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU:

They are looking for a hands-on, staff/principal level dev to come in and organically take the reins over a team of ~6 mid-level devs, to help clear up more time for the Co-Founders (both humble 10X devs) to focus on more go-to-market activities — their sales pipeline is blowing up RN!

 

Ideally, they are looking for someone passionate about startups with an owner/founder mentality. They are looking for a proven experience both in large company ventures as well as at least 1 iteration of leading an engineering team, taking them through Seed and into the A and B rounds.

 

LOCATIONThey currently boast a strong remote culture with quarterly offsite. That said, the 2 Co-Founders are based in SF, and they will be looking to hire key players who are also in SF, as they plan to offer the option for a Hybrid environment in the near future (hence for this role, they are only considering folks living in, or looking to relocate to the Bay area).

 

TECH STACKThey hire polyglots, so tech stack/background is no issue. That said, FWIW, you’d be working largely in Python/Typescript/React.

 

COMPENSATION

The budgeted range is 140K – 180K for a Senior Dev, and up to 200K for a “Staff” level dev. We are happy to talk with candidates who are looking for to 225K, and try to make a presentation on your behalf. Given the phase of the company, there will of course also be options for VERY strong equity.
