Monte founded High Country Search Group in 2002, leveraging his extensive experience gained over eight years within large national firms. Having worked in various roles, from desk recruiter to Regional Vice President, Monte developed a deep understanding of both the desirable ‘best practices’ and the industry’s ‘worst practices’ that clients, candidates, and search professionals sought. With High Country Search Group, he aimed to refine an approach that emphasizes high quality and low volume, bringing together exceptional talent and committed companies.
Originally hailing from Nebraska, Monte relocated to Colorado in 1994 to embark on his recruiting career. He pursued his undergraduate degree at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he earned All-American and Academic All-American honors as a collegiate wrestler. Furthering his education, he obtained an MBA from The University of Iowa in 1993. Monte’s diverse interests include mountain biking, distance running, snowboarding, reading, and cherishing outdoor moments with his wife Jenna, daughter Sadie, and son Wyatt.
