About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a collaborative and growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning key accounting processes, leading month-end activities, improving efficiencies, and mentoring team members in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys balancing day-to-day accounting operations with process improvement initiatives. This role offers broad exposure across general accounting, payroll, compliance, and systems while working closely with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate the monthly accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned activities.

  • Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analysis.

  • Review vendor invoices to ensure proper coding and approval.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving outstanding items promptly.

  • Oversee daily cash application and related accounting activities.

  • Administer payroll processing and record associated accounting transactions.

  • Coordinate sales and use tax filings and annual 1099 reporting.

  • Support SOX compliance activities, maintain internal controls, and identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes.

  • Partner with internal teams and external auditors to provide requested documentation and support.

  • Supervise and mentor staff by reviewing work, providing guidance, and supporting professional development.

  • Serve as a key user of the company's ERP system, helping optimize accounting workflows and supporting future system enhancements.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading or mentoring accounting staff.

  • Experience with ERP systems, and working through optimization.

  • Experience processing payroll.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and internal controls.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies.

Compensation:

Base salary between 120K – 140K
